Bona Fide Acai Berry Scams
The
acai palm requires a lot of water to grow correctly, & it
grows in the forests of Latin America from Belize down to Peru.
The berry fruit has always been a source of food for the indigenous
tribes in most of the palm growing countries and in various
situations they have been eating the berries as more than 40
percent of their complete food consumption. There is even a
fable of a distinct Brazilian tribe staving off hunger &
malnourishment for an extended period of time by surviving on
only the acai berry.
The
full-grown berry is dark purple in color although there are
lighter colored species available & the less developed ones
are green. The fruits are able to be mistaken for grapes because
of their size and looks. A big inedible seed makes up in excess
of 80 percent of the berry's volume, surrounded by a thin pulpy
area from which acai products are derived. The Acai's outer
skin is thin, and it only reinforces the color of the inside
pulp. Two times in a year these fruit reap and it is common
to have multiple harvest.
Of
late, acai berry scams have received a lot of global exposure
due to the marketing activities of several manufacturers who
are marketing different forms of the acai berry for its health
advantages. For which reason, the acai palm is now being cultivated
in quite a few areas along the Amazon. Acai berries are now
existing in various forms - powders, juice, capsules, puree
& even the berries themselves. In all these instances, the
plucked acai berries are placed in a container filled with water
at a predetermined percentage & shaken. When the pulp is
removed from the pit, a puree is produced, which may be utilized
as is or further processed into acai powder, acai juice, freeze
dried acai capsules, or tablets. Apart from its modern applications,
acai berry has been customarily consumed with a blend of granola,
salt or sweet stuff by the locals. There are numerous who like
acai flavored ice cream & some like it in their drinks.
The
acai berry is touted as a greatly nutritional fruit in theory,
which raises the prospect of deception due to lack of scientific
corroboration. Tests have discovered that acai puree is a stable
natural coloring instrument functional for MRI scanning. Some
tests have established that it can prevent the development of
leukemia cells under lab conditions.
This
fruit is thought to be by some to be a wonder fruit due to its
extreme antioxidant levels, fiber, flavonoids, vitamin content,
and even confirmation that it alleviates skin, heart, digestion,
& sexual potency troubles but still are not yet borne out
by independent tests. A number of studies so far on the berry
suggest it is only slightly better than the average lot of fruits.
Acai berry scams are attributable not to the fruit but appear
out of bogus claims of diet pill hucksters who exploit.
